Scientist/Sr. Scientist - Biostatistics

We are seeking a Ph.D. Biostatistician to support development and commercialization of predictive and prognostic tests and therapeutics.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience with:

  • Concepts of clinical research and clinical trial design
  • Proposing, prioritizing and performing appropriate statistical analysis on clinical studies of diagnostics or therapeutics in alignment with the project goals
  • Clinical study design, protocol and statistical analysis plan writing and study report preparation
  • Working on a cross-functional team to address specific corporate objectives
  • Delivering statistical work product and data driven insights to clinical questions on aggressive timelines

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to clinical study design, protocol and statistical analysis plan writing and study report preparation
  • Effectively present ideas and document complex statistical methods, data analysis, and insights to both expert and non-expert audiences in both written and oral communications
  • Work closely on a team of clinical statisticians, clinicians, research and development biologists, and computational scientists
  • Perform statistical analyses, including generating clinical study data summaries and ad-hoc reports
  • Accurately estimate timelines and resources needed to meet project team objectives
  • Participate in developing and testing QA/QC metrics for assay data
  • Ensure completeness, correctness and integrity of analyses and datasets
  • Support clinical and medical affairs, product development, launch, and marketing efforts

Job Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Ph. D. in statistics or related field
  • At least two years of experience in an industrial setting
  • Demonstrated willingness to be hands-on and pro-active
  • Proficiency in statistical programming environments such as SAS and R; familiarity with Python is a plus
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and set own priorities, while maintaining accuracy and attention to details
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, rapidly changing, and highly competitive industry
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external colleagues and collaborators, both academic and industrial
  • Fluency in computer systems and high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Ability to work full-time (40-hr week) in Company offices in South San Francisco, California
